MRRPC surveys being compiled; ordinance study drafts and legislative contacts planned

Carl Nelson updated the Maiden Rock Town Board on work with the Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission (MRRPC), saying surveys are being compiled and that results are expected by the Dec. 1 meeting. Nelson said it is hopeful the survey results can be mailed with tax statements.
Judy Krohn reported on the operation ordinance study: Stockholm Township will receive a draft from the study committee, Lisa Doerr presented to Trenton Township, and Pepin County is seeking more information before proceeding. Krohn said an organized effort to contact legislative members about concerns is scheduled for Nov. 12.
Board members did not take formal action on the ordinance study at this meeting; the item will remain on future agendas as draft documents and survey results are completed.
