GROWW challenges Ridge Breeze expansion; information meeting set, planning commission to meet

MAIDEN ROCK, Wis. — Residents and board members at the Town of Maiden Rock’s May 12 meeting heard that GROWW has filed a challenge to the Ridge Breeze expansion permit and that the developer appears to be continuing construction despite permits not yet being approved.
Judy Krohn, an attendee, distributed a notice from GROWW saying the group is challenging Ridge Breeze’s expansion permit and announced an information session for residents at Bay City Village Hall on May 29, 2025, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Clerk/Treasurer Carla R. Schuster told the board the town’s new planning commission will hold its first meeting on June 2, 2025.
The minutes record: “At this point, Ridge Breeze is continuing with the building process, even though building permits have not been approved.” The board did not take formal action on the expansion at the meeting; the entry in the minutes documents the challenge and the upcoming public meeting.
The issue will be part of the town’s upcoming planning work. Residents and organizers will have the opportunity to discuss the GROWW challenge at the May 29 information session; the planning commission’s June 2 meeting will be the town’s first formal planning commission session to consider zoning and related matters.
