The Greenburgh Town Board approved a package of routine items and community announcements at its March 12 meeting.
Key actions included reappointing Myrna Hanover to the Hartsdale Public Parking District Board of Commissioners for a term through Dec. 31, 2027; authorizing continued retention of the law firm Morris Duffy (and named partners) for ongoing legal matters; and approving several tax‑certiorari settlements and budget transfers for fiscal year 2024. The board accepted a $100,000 donation from Wilmsford Little League to help pay for new field lights at West Bromberg Park and thanked the league for its contribution.
In public safety business, the board promoted police officer Steven Eldrod to detective and authorized the police department to go out to bid for motorcycles and related equipment. The board also authorized the town supervisor to execute a municipal agreement with Westchester County to reimburse the town for an operations crosswalk program at the Theodore Young Community Center for the period Oct. 1, 2024 through Sept. 20, 2025.
Staff noted that outside counsel has been used for specialized municipal claims work and the town is studying whether recruiting in‑house specialists would be cost‑effective. The board adjourned after considering all agenda items.
