Board approves Snout Hill site expansion and records V&B Farms DNR notice

The Board reviewed a master matrix and a site expansion application for the Snout Hill Site/H&A Farms (Dale Township, Sections 7 and 8) and approved the application, signing an approval letter to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources on a motion by Supervisor Cory Altena, seconded by Supervisor Dennis Scholten.
Auditor Sprock said the matrix score was the same as submitted. Separately, Sprock informed the board that V&B Farms had submitted a construction permit to the DNR; the county’s only requirement under its review process was to publish notice and solicit comments, and Sprock stated that no comments were submitted.
The decisions forward administrative approvals to the Iowa DNR for final permitting action and document the county’s publication and comment‑solicitation steps.
