The Marion County Board of Commissioners approved a multi-item consent agenda at its March 18, 2026 session in Salem, advancing contracts, payments and administrative orders. Commissioner Kevin Cameron moved to approve the consent agenda and Commissioner Danielle Bethell seconded; the motion carried.
Among the items approved was an order to pay Brown and Brown Insurance Services, Inc. $954,276.07 to cover excess general liability, excess workers’ compensation, specified medical malpractice coverages for contracted physicians, and marine hull and machinery insurance for Marion County. Finance presented and the board approved a Teller software-as-a-service agreement with Can/Am Technologies for $408,472 to provide Teller point-of-sale (POS) system support through March 31, 2029.
Public Works items on the consent agenda included notice of the hearings officer’s decision approving Zone Change / Partition Case #25-005 for Roger and Jenny Pena, authorization for Marion County Parks to apply for an Oregon Parks and Recreation Department Local Government Grant for wildfire restoration at Bear Creek Park and Campground, and approval of Amendment #1 to the Garten Services, Inc. contract to add $60,000 for a new not-to-exceed total of $160,000 and extend the term to June 30, 2027 for transportation and sorting of batteries collected at county Environmental Services sites.
The Tax Office’s request to cancel three uncollectible personal property tax accounts was also approved; the cancellations total $30,411.61 and reference Tax IDs 352227 (Limitless Lifestyles, LLC), 133251 (Kurt and Elizabeth Ream) and 126702 (Janice E. Jacobsen).
The approvals were handled as a single consent motion and no separate roll-call vote breakdown was recorded in the minutes beyond the chair’s confirmation that the motion carried. The board did not take separate final action on these items during a later portion of the meeting.
