The planning solicitor and supervisors said the changes are substantial and require the township to re-advertise and hold another public hearing. The board discussed a pending appeal related to an outstanding zoning hearing-board matter and confirmed that any active applications filed before the ordinance change remain governed by the prior ordinance until the appeal or related case is resolved; new applications filed after adoption would be subject to the new language.
A supervisor summarized the county commission’s suggestions to broaden the animal definition and apply performance standards for odor and noise to the use definition. The motion to authorize re-advertisement and accept the Bucks County Planning Commission recommendations carried on a voice vote; the board scheduled the re-advertisement and subsequent public hearing at a later meeting.
