James Maynard of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet briefed the River Bluff Mayor-Commission Board on May 26, 2026, on revisions to the longtime US Hwy 42 widening project. Maynard said the project, which dates to 2006 and earlier traffic projections showing roughly 18,000 vehicles per day in 2006 growing toward nearly 40,000 by 2036, has been re-scoped after more recent studies showed much lower traffic growth.
