Bolivar — Mayor Curtis Strauss used the April 2 council meeting to highlight several upcoming community events and reminders: weekly yard/stick collection will begin Monday, April 6; the Towpath Rotary’s annual Shred Day and Recycle event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ohio Billing parking lot (fee $5 per banker’s box; electronics and battery backups accepted); hydrant flushing is set for Wednesday, May 6; and Arbor Day tree planting is rescheduled to Wednesday, May 13 so Hennis Care residents can view the ceremony. The mayor also said he had signed proclamations recognizing Motorcycle Awareness Month and National Police Week and reminded residents that a vacancy remains on the Zoning Board.
