Udall schools report CTE enrollment, interim testing strategies and 2025 KAP results

Tina Almanza, College and Career Counselor, told the board Oct. 13 that Udall High School students are enrolled in Cowley College career and technical education programs and in Cowley College academic classes. Almanza outlined recent job-shadowing experiences, upcoming events for high school students and described how Udall teachers are using mini-tests and interim assessments to monitor student progress and support preparation for state tests.
Heidi Perkins, Superintendent, presented the district's accreditation certificate and reported on school improvements, including completion of the art room roof and work sessions related to KESA and DLT and school improvement planning. Perkins and staff also noted the district is conducting a second elementary math curriculum pilot.
District staff presented 2025 Kansas Assessment Program (KAP) cut scores and district scores for board review. Board members discussed implications for instruction and assessment strategies; the minutes record discussion but no board action on the KAP results.
