Board adopts revised instructional materials policy and approves resolution on teaching out of endorsement

The Valley School District Board adopted several administrative items at its Aug. 20 meeting. Superintendent Dr. Mandi Rehn presented a revised Policy 2020 — Course Design, Selection and Adoption of Instructional Materials — for a second reading and recommended approval. Director Doug Elledge moved to approve; Director Crystal Hubert seconded and the motion carried.
Dr. Rehn also presented Resolution No. 6 (25/26), concerning teaching out of endorsement, and recommended approval. Director Paul Voelker moved to approve Resolution No. 6; Director Doug Elledge seconded and the motion carried.
In addition, Dr. Rehn presented classified exempt staff contracts for the 2025–26 school year; Director Doug Elledge moved to approve the contracts, Director Crystal Hubert seconded, and the motion carried.
The minutes record the motions and approvals but do not include roll‑call vote tallies. The board noted that new nondiscrimination and equal employment opportunity policies (Policy 3210 and revised Policy 5010) were presented for a first reading and will be returned for action at a subsequent meeting.
