Valley School Board adopts 2025–26 budget, approves consent agenda and contracts

VALLEY — The Valley School District Board of Directors on July 16 approved the district’s 2025–26 budget and a broad consent agenda covering minutes, vouchers and contracts.

Director of Finance Jared Attridge reviewed the financial report and the board adopted Resolution No. 5 to finalize the 2025–26 budget. Paul Voelker moved to approve the resolution; Crystal Hubert seconded and the motion carried.

The board approved the consent agenda, moved by Doug Elledge and seconded by Paul Voelker. The consent items included approval of the June board meeting minutes; General Fund vouchers (#141095–#141096, #141112–#141137, #141143–#141171 and listed ACH numbers), CPF Fund vouchers (#141138–#141141, #141172–#141173), ASB Fund vouchers (#141142, #141174), and payroll warrants (#141097–#141111). The meeting minutes record the combined totals for the voucher batches and payroll as presented in the consent packet (the record lists $154,071.71 for specified General Fund batches, $148,013.46 for CPF batches, $977.08 for ASB batches and $346,000.07 for payroll disbursements across the listed warrants).

The consent package also authorized contracts and supplemental contracts with multiple vendors and staff for 2025–26 operations, including food services with NEWESD101 and professional services and construction contracts listed in the packet. The board’s recorded action was "motion carried" for the consent vote; the minutes do not include a roll-call tally beyond the recorded mover and seconder.

The board also approved a staff-submitted request to surplus a 1994 Elgin Pelican self-propelled sweeper that the Transportation Supervisor said no longer meets district needs (see related actions).
