Ryland Heights Commission accepts FY2024 audit, approves color newsletter printing and appoints Quin Wichmann to Kenton County Planning Commission

The Ryland Heights Commission on Feb. 18 accepted the city's fiscal year 2024 audit, approved routine financial reporting and voted to fund color printing for the initial city newsletter, and appointed Quin Wichmann to the Kenton County Planning Commission.
John Chamberlin of Chamberlin Owen CPAs presented the audit of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. Commissioner Collins moved to accept the audit report and Commissioner Bowman seconded; the commission approved the motion unanimously (4'0Aye, 0'0Nay).
Treasurer Rod Rigacci presented the January 2025 Treasurer's report, including bank statements and a budget-versus-actual summary. Commissioners asked questions that were answered by staff; Commissioner Bowman moved to accept the Treasurer's report, Commissioner Collins seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
During new business the commission discussed the proposed city newsletter and what content it should include; commissioners noted that notices about resident deaths should only be published with family permission. Commissioner Bowman moved that the city pay for the first newsletter printing to be in color; Commissioner Collins seconded and the motion was approved unanimously.
Under a resolution numbered 2-18-2025, Mayor John Cole relayed that the city has a vacancy on the Kenton County Planning Commission. Commissioner Bowman moved to appoint Quin Wichmann to that seat; Commissioner Smith seconded and the appointment carried by unanimous vote. The minutes do not specify any conditions on the appointment or a term length.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that passed unanimously; the commission adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
Next steps: commissioners were reminded to prepare budget materials ahead of the April meeting.
