Ryland Heights Commission approves routine business, land clearing estimate and septic contract item; Lambs Ferry Road repairs noted

Treasurer Rod Rigacci presented the August 2024 Treasurer’s report, including bank statements and budget-vs.-actual figures; after questions the commission voted 5–0 to accept the report. The treasurer also reported that Lykins will no longer supply residential heating oil and that the city has contacted an alternate supplier for a residential service application.
Under committee reports, the commission noted that work on Lambs Ferry Road has begun and that a culvert repair has been completed. The Building Committee shared a $5,800 estimate from Rust Construction to clear a parcel of land; the commission approved that estimate by unanimous vote. The minutes note a two-week deadline for Commissioner Ponder to remove a container from the property before other action is taken.
During public comment, a resident asked where construction funding would come from for the planned new building; the commission said a grant has been received and that no taxes will be raised for the building. The commission then approved a motion by Commissioner Collins, seconded by Commissioner Bowman, to include a $15,900 septic-system installation in the building contract; the motion passed 5–0.
