Robersonville council reappoints trustee, adopts HUD Section 3 plan and approves upset-bid notice

The Robersonville Town Council took three unanimous formal actions at its Sept. 10 meeting: it reappointed Noreen Washington to a six-year term on the BHM Board of Trustees, adopted a HUD Section 3 plan for grant compliance, and approved an upset-bid resolution that requires a 10-day newspaper notice for two surplus parcels.
Manager Chris Roberson told the council the BHM Board requested the appointment; Mayor Brown asked for a motion and Councilman Glen Cowan moved to reappoint Noreen Washington for a six-year term. Mayor Pro Tem Claudie Wilkins seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
On the HUD compliance matter, Roberson recommended adopting the enclosed Section 3 plan. Councilman David Jenkins moved to adopt the standard documentation; Councilwoman Debra Armstrong seconded and the council adopted the plan unanimously.
Roberson also explained the town must publish an upset-bid notice related to Little Dumars and surplus property. The notice must run in the newspaper for 10 days for parcels 0701608 and 0701606. Councilman Cowan moved to adopt the resolution and Mayor Pro Tem Wilkins seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Votes recorded at the meeting showed unanimous approval on the motions; no roll-call dissent was recorded in the transcript. The council did not attach conditions to the actions beyond the required publication and standard Section 3 documentation.
