Board members reviewed updates from town committees and departments and assigned follow-up actions for infrastructure and policy items. Members reported that sidewalk work is planned for next summer, beautification volunteers continue watering and weeding, and the Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee (CPIC) is organizing three subgroups to guide zoning evaluation, economic development/placemaking, and transportation and green initiatives.
On streetlights, the board discussed a hybrid maintenance arrangement with Central Hudson that has produced recurring outages in Mountainside Woods. A board member said Central Hudson agreed to meet on-site with the town's electrician to trace fuse-box and fixture failures and develop a long-term solution. The board emphasized residents should still report outages to Central Hudson and noted that a backlog following the July 4 storm contributed to delays.
Under old business, the board discussed installing pavilion cameras at Barium Park for about $2,000 and coordinating that work with Elevated and town staff. On a water billing matter from 1 Merritt Avenue, staff (Adam Littman from Water and Sewer) advised that the sewer portion and late fees could be waived if the resident paid the bills on time; board members debated precedent concerns. The supervisor proposed placing a formal resolution on the workshop agenda and requested Adam be present for the discussion.
Board members also discussed parking enforcement and the need to install clear signage before broad enforcement begins, and they assigned follow-up work on Detroit Lane cul-de-sac parking and enforcement policy changes for a future workshop.
