The Town of Redington Shores Board of Commissioners on July 10 approved the town’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the year ended Sept. 30, 2023, and authorized the town’s FY25 service contract with the Gulf Beaches Public Library, while a resolution seeking to establish a bird sanctuary failed for lack of a second.
Mayor Commissioner Lisa Hendrickson presented the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, saying it included the auditor’s recommendations. Commissioner Tom Kapper moved to approve the report, and Commissioner Erin Schoos seconded; the commission voted 4–0 to adopt the report.
The commission then considered the Gulf Beaches Public Library FY25 service contract. Hendrickson explained the contract is required under the interlocal agreement governing library services and stated the fee for the coming year is $55,541.00. Commissioner Kapper moved to approve the contract; Commissioner Schoos seconded and the motion passed 4–0.
Earlier in the meeting Town Attorney Eschenfelder read RESOLUTION 07-2024, which requested establishment of a bird sanctuary within the town’s jurisdictional boundaries. Commissioner CJ Hoyt moved to approve the resolution, but no commissioner seconded the motion; as a result the motion failed and the resolution was not adopted.
