The Easton School Committee voted July 16 to approve a renewal with Whaley Computer Associates to continue districtwide cloud‑managed wireless services.
Director of finance Joe Spagna told the committee the FY27 renewal has a not‑to‑exceed value of $31,040 and will be procured through the Massachusetts state contract ITT72 to satisfy public purchasing requirements. The renewal includes a one‑year Xtream Cloud pilot and an Xtream AI expert subscription license that Spagna said maintain the district’s ability to monitor, secure and administer its wireless network.
"Without these subscriptions, the district would lose access to cloud based management platforms ... necessary for effective operations of the district's wireless network," Spagna said.
A committee member moved to approve the contract and Loomis seconded. The committee approved the contract by roll-call vote as recorded in the meeting.
What happens next: The district will finalize the contract under the town contract number on the presented paperwork and proceed with implementation to avoid interruption of wireless services.
