At the July 31 workshop the Redington Shores Board of Commissioners addressed several administrative items. Administrator Mike McGlothlin told the board the town's agreement with Trask Daigneault LLP will expire Sept. 8, 2024; the proposed new agreement would continue until terminated by either party on 30 days' written notice at an attorney billing rate of $225 per hour. Commissioners agreed to forward the agreement to the Aug. 14 regular meeting for formal consideration and asked that internal processes about contacting the attorney be reviewed at a future workshop.
Mayor Lisa Hendrickson introduced proposed guidelines for the town newsletter to clarify content, deadlines, and production responsibilities. Commissioners noted the newsletter must be distributed at least twice annually because flood outreach content is required to maintain Community Rating System (CRS) credits tied to flood mitigation outreach. Attorney Robert Eschenfelder will draft a resolution for consideration at the September workshop.
Loretta Fricks of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee told the board PAR had received negative feedback about holiday decorations; PAR requested staff research alternatives that might include more beach-themed options, solar-powered fixtures, or tinsel. The board directed Administrator McGlothlin to check with the current vendor and bring options to the next meeting.
The board confirmed upcoming meeting dates (Regular meeting Aug. 14; Budget Workshop Aug. 21; Workshop Aug. 28) and adjourned at 8:11 p.m.
