Sublette USD 374 board approves routine business, appoints calendar committee and holds executive sessions on personnel

Board members approved the meeting agenda and the Sept. 9, 2024 minutes (the minutes were corrected to change the name from Ms. Avritt to Ms. Phoenix). The treasurer's report was deferred because the district’s financial software rollover remained incomplete; President Cornelius Froese moved and Lee Mason seconded that the report be made available at the November meeting; the motion carried 5-0.
The board appointed three staff members to the District Calendar Committee: Rhesa Webber for the High School; Kristin Penner for the Middle School; and Megan Elsey for the Elementary School. President Froese moved to appoint the committee members; Mrs. Wiswell seconded the motion, which carried 5-0.
The board entered several executive sessions to discuss personnel, with motions to enter executive session carried unanimously. The minutes state no action was taken on the personnel employment item recorded as Item #8. During reports, Superintendent Rex Richardson told the board auditors would be in the district the week of Oct. 21–25 and that KSDE and BEST 21st Century auditors would be on site Oct. 23; he also reminded board members of the KASB Fall Conferences in Wichita on Nov. 15–17, 2024.
The meeting adjourned after these items; all motions reported in the minutes passed on unanimous votes when tallies were recorded. The minutes note that they are not considered official until approved at the next regular meeting.
