Recreation commission asks Sublette USD to raise employee membership payment to $5,000; board tables decision

The Sublette Recreation Commission asked the Sublette USD No. 374 Board on Nov. 11 to increase the annual district payment for employee and board memberships from $1,000 to $5,000.
Nick Leon, representing the Recreation Commission, met with district leadership and Board members to discuss the current policy. During the meeting the district reported the Commission’s roster listed 56 active district employees; after an inquiry to faculty and staff only 16 people replied that they actively used the membership. Board members described the arrangement as a longstanding partnership and discussed possible counteroffers and verification of membership usage.
The Board did not vote on the increase and tabled the matter for the December meeting to allow staff to follow up with the Recreation Commission and re-evaluate participation and cost-sharing options.
