Staff updates: PennDOT coordination, Park House culvert work and Lovers Lane remain pending

Staff said Lovers Lane has an extension through the end of May and that Springford Walk has revised plans under review and could be ready for a May 6 agenda. The Park House development is working with PennDOT on replacement and reconstruction of culverts and other roadside improvements; staff said PennDOT has requested a meeting with the developer to collaborate on those technical issues.
Commissioners asked whether the township can require off‑site road widening; staff answered that the township generally can require frontage improvements only and that PennDOT has broader authority to require or fund off‑site improvements. Staff said some developments may generate traffic‑impact fees that could be used toward those improvements and that county or grant funds may help larger corridor upgrades.
The commission discussed scheduling and workshop format for upcoming meetings before adjourning.
