Wells Branch MUD authorizes District Manager to certify updated AWIA risk and resilience assessment
Summary
The Board authorized the District Manager to certify completion of the District's updated Risk and Resilience Assessment required by the America's Water Infrastructure Act by the June 30 deadline, and directed staff to update the emergency response plan by year-end with consultant RJN Group to report in December.
District Manager Shirley Ross told the Board the updated Risk and Resilience Assessment (RRA) required under the America's Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) was almost final and requested authorization to certify completion by the June 30 deadline. Ross noted the RRA is not a public document for security reasons but invited Directors to review it in person at the District office.
Ross added that the next step under AWIA is an update to the District's emergency response plan before the end of the year and that RJN Group, Inc. would attend the December Board meeting to report on the complete process.
After discussion, upon motion by Director Kevin Ward and second by Director Moises Solis, the Board voted unanimously to authorize the District Manager to certify the RRA completion by the applicable deadline.
