Board hears ag-shop and grant updates, discusses extracurricular travel and holds executive session on superintendent evaluation

At the Sept. 18 meeting, Superintendent Alex Ator reviewed grants expiring this month and described plans for spending remaining funds. He also reported that the classroom portion of the agricultural shop renovation is nearly complete and most equipment has been returned.
On extracurricular matters, Darryl Grove reported that local schools are using senior players to officiate elementary and junior high volleyball matches. He said the cross-country team will compete in Missoula on Sept. 28, will stay overnight on Sept. 27, fundraised to offset trip costs, and will be accompanied by an adult female chaperone.
Vice Chair Nick Dobbel called an executive session at 6:42 p.m. to review the superintendent's evaluation, stating that the privacy rights of the individual supersede public disclosure. The board returned to open session at 8:00 p.m. and adjourned at 8:02 p.m. No public action resulting from the executive session was recorded in the minutes.
