Roberts School Board approves $2.08 million 2024–25 budget and files year-end financial summary

The Roberts School District board approved the 2024–25 budget totaling $2,079,441.94 and authorized filing the 2023–24 Trustees Financial Summary with the Office of Public Instruction; warrants were approved at a special meeting Aug. 22.
The Roberts School District No. 5 Board of Trustees approved a $2,079,441.94 budget for the 2024–25 school year and filed its 2023–24 Trustees Financial Summary with the Office of Public Instruction.
JaLayne Obert, business manager and district clerk, presented the budget at the board’s Aug. 14 regular meeting, listing fund totals including a General Fund of $1,303,817.52, Transportation $137,769.78, Bus Depreciation $183,026.88 and a Building Reserve of $120,451.71. "These are the figures we will submit for the upcoming year," Obert said.
The board voted to approve the Trustees Financial Summary so it could be submitted to the Office of Public Instruction. Joel Bertolino moved to approve the summary and Brad Norman seconded; the motion carried.
Board members then approved the 2024–25 Budget Report as presented. Bertolino moved to adopt the budget, Norman seconded, and the board voted in favor.
Warrants associated with district payments were deferred from the Aug. 14 meeting and approved at a short special meeting on Aug. 22. At that special session, Joel Bertolino moved and Brad Norman seconded approval of warrants numbered 50522 through 59579; the motion carried and the warrants were approved as presented.
No formal changes to the adopted budget were recorded in the Aug. 14 minutes. The board also approved three district policies on third reading at the Aug. 14 meeting: Policy 2165 (Targeted Early Literacy), Policy 2336 (Health Enhancement) and Policy 3141 (Nonresident Enrollment).
Next steps: the board scheduled its regular September meeting for Sept. 18; any budget amendments or further financial actions would be addressed in future sessions.
