Harrison County Commissioners Court ratified an upfront purchase for maintenance supervisor Brad Thomas of a Smith 119-gallon commercial natural gas water heater (agenda item referenced as 'BTH 500') from ecomfort.com for $16,900 for the Willoughby Juvenile Detention Center.
The chair explained the vendor required payment up front rather than the county’s usual practice of paying after delivery. “Usually, we get something and then pay for it, and they need payment upfront to, get this water here,” the chair said during the discussion.
A motion to ratify the purchase was made and seconded; the court approved the ratification by voice vote, 5-0.
No additional public comment or debate was recorded on the item.
