Natchez‑Adams School Board unanimously approves dual‑enrollment MOUs, travel, lease, dropout plan and consultant hire

The Natchez‑Adams School District Board of Trustees on Nov. 21, 2024, voted unanimously to approve a slate of consent and action items covering contracts, student travel and school improvement efforts.
In roll‑call votes that were recorded as 5–0, the board approved a two‑year amendment to the district’s MOU with Co‑Lin for tuition at Natchez Early College, an MOU with Tougaloo College for dual enrollment, out‑of‑state/overnight travel for the Natchez High School girls basketball team to an LSU game, and ratification of a supplemental lease with River Ridge Behavioral Health for Freshman Academy AOP space. The consent agenda also included retirement and disposal of equipment, adoption of the 2024–25 School Wellness Policy and selection of a cap‑and‑gown vendor.
Board members also approved the personnel report and accepted October financial documents, which were presented by Business & Finance Manager Timothy Byrd and included the reconciled bank statement, statement of revenues and expenditures, current budget status, monthly cash flow and combined balance sheet. The motions to approve personnel and to accept the financial statements passed by recorded vote 5–0.
On academic supports and improvement, the board approved the 2024–25 Dropout Prevention Plan and authorized Hubb Network to provide consulting services for Natchez Middle School. Both measures passed unanimously.
All recorded motions included mover and seconder information in the minutes. For example, the personnel report was approved on a motion by Dr. Cecile Dianne Bunch and second by LLJuna Grennell Weir; the claims docket and financial statements were accepted on a motion by Phillip West with a second from Dr. Brenda Robinson.
The board also voted to enter closed session to determine whether to go into executive session and subsequently entered executive session to discuss possible litigation; no public action was taken while in executive session. The meeting adjourned at 4:51 p.m.
