Board directs Activities Director to support MHSA proposals at Jan. 20 meeting

During the Dec. 18 meeting Superintendent Alex Ator reviewed six Montana High School Association (MHSA) proposals scheduled for the MHSA Annual Meeting on Jan. 20, 2025. The proposals covered eligibility and rules including: (1) participation by students below ninth grade, (2) the transfer rule, (3) MHSA awards rule, (4) amateur rule, (5) penalties by-law adding general penalties (Section 2.8.2), and (6) physical exam requirements.
Mr. Ator recommended that the district give Activities Director Darryl Grove direction to vote in favor of all proposals; the board agreed to direct Grove to cast the district’s votes accordingly. No formal roll-call vote was recorded for the direction; the action was recorded as board direction to the Activities Director.
Mr. Grove is scheduled to attend the MHSA Annual Meeting on Jan. 20 and will represent the district as directed.
