Chattahoochee Hills launches 'My Chatt Hills' app, discusses new fire‑station options and joins ARC transportation planning

Mayor Camille Lowe used the July 7 council meeting to highlight several items intended to improve city communications and public safety. The city launched the "My Chatt Hills" mobile app, which now supports SMS and email notifications; Lowe said signups rose from roughly 100 to more than 300 and asked residents to spread the word.
Lowe said the council is continuing to evaluate options for an additional fire station, focusing on budget, location and project timing to improve response times. She thanked Fire Chief Greg Brett for pursuing options and keeping council informed; Chief Brett later reported that June statistics were within expected ranges and reiterated that weather‑related calls to roads, power lines and trees have increased summer demand.
The mayor also said the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) will launch a comprehensive transportation plan in August, running through May 2028 and covering eight South Fulton cities and regional trail plans. Lowe said the city has requested monthly progress reports so staff and elected officials can monitor the plan’s development and ensure Chattahoochee Hills is included in communications.
Community Development Director Mike Morton and Economic Development Director Chris Montesinos provided related updates: Morton noted 17 building permits in June (including three new homes versus zero the prior year), announced a planning commission work session and regular meeting on July 16 and a comprehensive‑plan open house on July 28; Montesinos said the city completed Q2 grant reporting (SS4A, Georgia DNR, RTP), executed the SS4A consultant contract with Toole Design Group and advanced SR‑70 wayfinding eligibility with GDOT for final engineering.
The mayor also reported ongoing coordination with utility partner Greystone after recent outages in the Serenbe area and described a proposed "Good Neighborhood Policy" with neighboring mayors to notify residents about cross‑border development proposals. The council encouraged public participation in the comprehensive plan survey and RiverLands Park survey.
