Chattahoochee Hills City Council on July 7 approved a slate of routine and land‑use items, unanimously adopting a variance and a special‑use permit for a proposed country inn, signing an intergovernmental agreement for the 2026 Transportation SPLOST proceeds, and formally approving the Coweta County Local Emergency Operations Plan.
At the start of the vote series, council approved Variance 26V‑002 for Mark HaLi and Alicia Price to reduce a country‑inn setback from 200 feet to 100 feet (limited to a 250‑foot length along the north side of the site). Councilmember Rodney Peek moved the motion and Councilmember Angela Addison seconded; the mayor opened and closed the public hearing with no speakers and the motion passed unanimously with staff conditions.
Council also approved Special Use Permit 26U‑001 for a country inn/farm stay in the RL (Rural) district on a motion by Councilmember Timothy Southard, seconded by Councilmember Ruby Foster; the motion passed unanimously with staff conditions.
On intergovernmental matters the council approved Item 26‑043, an intergovernmental agreement to use and distribute proceeds from the 2026 Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST). The council also approved Item 26‑039, an agreement with Douglas County Jail Services.
The council approved the Coweta County Local Emergency Operations Plan (LEOP) (Item 26‑041) on a unanimous vote. Item 26‑042, a first reading proposing to revert 2.35 acres along Creel Road from HM‑MU to RL, was presented as a first read only and will return for further consideration.
A contested vote occurred on Item 26‑040, a request from event promoter Fever for a reduction in special event permit fees for “Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience” at Bouckaert Farm. Councilmember Ruby Foster moved the fee reduction and Councilmember Rodney Peek seconded; the motion passed 4–1, with Councilmember Angela Addison casting the sole Nay vote.
