Summer programs: steady enrollment; swim lesson cancellations and staff issues addressed

Director John Wrenn relayed program statistics and financial results: the Early Bird program and ASP finished the 2025–2026 school year $156.55 in the black; Junior Camp has 77 enrollees, Senior Camp about 150, Extended Hours 90, Early Drop-off 47, and swim lessons 38 to date.
Wrenn said recent extreme heat and heavy rain forced swim-lesson cancellations on some days; he offered free make-up classes to enrollees who missed half the session. He also noted several reported incidents of counselors and lifeguards being distracted and said he will address each case with Senior Camp staff and lifeguards.
Program updates included current small classes (Mindful Movements with 4 participants) and Music Time with Miss Cheryl (23 participants, single-day August class before instructor break). Staff continue testing MyRec scheduling for Old School/Scout House; the system may be ready by the August meeting and should allow user requests without overriding Park and Recreation bookings.
Wrenn also requested approval to purchase a replacement briefcase and a laptop carrying case; commissioners agreed he could make those purchases.
