Soldier Township votes to send county notice of intent to exceed revenue neutral rate for 2026

Soldier Township trustees on July 8 voted to send a required notice to the county indicating the township’s intent to exceed the revenue neutral rate for 2026.
Administrator Audree Guzman presented the notice and the relevant mill figures: the current mill is 20.763, the proposed mill is 20.750 and the revenue neutral rate is 20.029. She explained that although the proposed mill is lower than the current mill, it still exceeds the revenue neutral rate and therefore the notice must be filed with the county by the end of July. Member Jerry Glasgow moved to send the notice and Trustee Chad Gerhardt seconded; the motion carried.
Guzman also reported she has finalized the 2026 budget and will present it at the August meeting; the budget hearing and approval will be scheduled for the September board meeting. The board did not record a roll‑call tally in the minutes; motions were recorded as carried.
