Council asked the bonding attorney whether bond documents permit use of certain bond funds for repayment; the attorney was out of the office and staff expects a response in the coming weeks. The council noted that about $330,000–$350,000 remains available in Division Street bond funds, though use for this purpose needs attorney confirmation.
Several residents asked about annexation implications for taxes and development standards. Brad Deebrad (S10) asked how annexation would affect assessed taxes and whether annexation would allow smaller-lot development than Johnson County rules (counties in the area typically require 40 acres to build a unit). Council discussed fire-service response areas as a factor influencing annexation strategy. No formal annexation action was taken.
