Guthrie council moves to restrict medical cannabis businesses to B1 zones if approved by voters

The City of Guthrie’s council on Sept. 10 adopted a zoning restriction that would limit medical cannabis businesses to B1 commercial zones if a medical cannabis vote is approved by voters.
Russ Longhurst moved to change the zoning ordinances to restrict medical cannabis businesses to B1 areas in the event of a successful vote; Harry Green seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The motion amends the city’s zoning approach so that, should medical cannabis become permissive under whatever higher-level process applies, retail or medical cannabis operations would be confined to B1 zoning districts.
