The committee approved reimbursement for a geocache logbook purchased by Jackie Peden after she received no response from the site owner. Peden bought the logbook for $15.72; Jennifer Whetstine moved to reimburse her, Denice Franken seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Selena Smith said she completed a nature-item scavenger hunt for children, printed copies with a trail map and placed them in the park mailbox. Betsy Hinds created a QR code that will be placed on the scavenger-hunt/map sheets and linked to the Troy Community Park Facebook page so visitors can post photos after completing the activity.
The committee discussed the possibility of applying for grants from Rainbow Communications and the T-Mobile Hometown grant program to support future projects. Jennifer Whetstine also suggested renaming the playground adjacent to the Troy Community Building to reduce confusion with Troy Community Park; Smith said she will ask Mayor Micheal Brissett whether he would like to pursue a naming process.
The committee set the next meeting for July 24, 2025 at 6 p.m. at the park.
