Troy committee advances 'Fox Trot Fairways' disc golf course, aims for June 13–14 opening

The Troy Community Park Committee on May 22 moved forward with plans for a new disc golf course named "Fox Trot Fairways," aiming to have the course ready for the Bike Across Kansas event scheduled June 13–14.
Committee member Selena Smith reported that an on-site May 2 meeting with Donnie Dugger, Jake Newton and Mary Winder covered pad locations, course layout and other details. Committee work items include concrete pads, signage and installation: Logan Merz is creating signs; disc golf baskets were expected by the end of May; Jake Newton will arrange dirt work and possibly pour concrete pads, with pads installed flush with the ground if feasible. Smith said she will pick up the posts and Quikrete needed for signs, with two posts planned per sign.
Mayor Brissette told the committee it is acceptable to place one pad on property currently owned by the Libel family, who plan to donate the parcel to the City of Troy, clearing a land-use question for the proposed course. The committee selected the name Fox Trot Fairways and noted Betsy Hinds designed a logo for the course.
Next steps recorded include confirming delivery and placement dates for baskets and signs and coordinating concrete pad work; the committee's timeline is to complete the project before the mid-June Bike Across Kansas event.
