Guthrie council approves engineering invoice and property purchases to advance wastewater expansion

Mike McGhee presented the engineering report and asked the council to approve the December engineering invoice of $84,000 for work on the wastewater treatment plant expansion. The council approved the invoice, to be paid from the roughly $2.8 million already received for the project, on a motion by Council member Russ Longhurst and a second from Chad Johnson.
The council also approved two property purchases connected to the expansion: Covington Farms for $80,000 with no more than $2,500 in closing costs, and the Morris property for $50,000 with no more than $2,500 in closing costs. Both purchases were approved by motions recorded in the minutes.
In related utility business, Benn Stahl presented the utility report and the council approved a purchase from vendor G&C Supply for stop valves at a cost of $13,920. That motion was made by Longhurst and seconded by Zollie Rose, and minutes state it carried unanimously.
The minutes attach the engineering and other reports; no dissenting council votes on the engineering invoice or the property purchases are recorded in the transcript.
