Troy USD 429 highlights student trips, curriculum work and upcoming events

During the Feb. 9 meeting, visitors Brittany Clary, Kelli Rodgers and Kennadee Christopher provided trip updates: the high school band is scheduled to travel to Chicago April 9–12, 2026, and seniors plan a Panama Beach, Fla., trip May 9–12, 2026. The minutes list these presentations under the visitor section.
Superintendent Patrick McKernan and Principal Allisha Engemann updated the board on KESA school action plans and new district goals. Engemann said elementary students celebrated Kansas’ 165th birthday, about 130 people RSVP’d for a Camping Family Fun Night, and teachers participated in a Greenbush math inservice focused on unpacking math standards K–12.
Principal Jeremy Prudden reported on athletics and activities, thanking middle school basketball coach Lucas Blevins and noting Scholar Bowl and tournament results. The minutes also list a retirement reception scheduled May 21 for Kristie Klaus and ongoing coordination for Anita Long’s retirement.
