Mallon reviewed potential revisions to the city’s ordinances and codes that would permit year‑round fireworks sales and noted the request originated from a local business owner interested in wholesale year‑round sales. After discussion, councilmembers requested additional research and directed staff to return with proposed ordinance language and implementation options at a future meeting; the council did not enact any change at the April 9 session.
No formal motion to amend city code was made; the item was left for further study. The council’s direction was procedural — staff were asked to investigate impacts, regulatory options and any licensing or public‑safety considerations and to report back to the council for potential future action.
