The Town of St. George's council unanimously approved a one‑year contract renewal for Town Manager Danny Conway on June 9, 2026 (Resolution #7/26). The resolution states the contract is renewed for a one‑year period with no changes to the prior agreement, commencing June 9, 2026. The vote was recorded as six in favor and none opposed.
Council approved payment of pending accounts payable invoices (total balance reported: $16,110.80) and approved three general repair permits and three building permits filed in May (Motions #38/26 and #39/26). A demolition permit was recorded as issued but did not require a motion. The council also agreed to donate $100 to the Garden of Hope (Motion #41/26).
Town Clerk Jennifer Hobbs presented a proposed Table of Contents to begin a Policy & Procedure Manual; council supported the project and asked staff to continue drafting policies and gathering the legislation that governs town operations. Council also noted a forthcoming building permit application from the St. George's Indian Band for a 33‑foot solar‑powered Growing Dome to be sited behind the post office; Lyndon LeRoux, the band's representative, said the project will coordinate with the Community Gardens Committee and is proposed for an area outside the Environmentally Protected Zone.
The meeting closed at 7:47 p.m.; council scheduled its next regular meeting for July 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
