Stanton County USD 452 board adopts 2025–26 district budget

President Lettie Nickell called a special meeting of the Stanton County Unified School District No. 452 Board of Education to order at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 in the SCHS board room.
District administrator Dave Novack summarized the budget hearing, saying he had discussed the draft budget by phone with a person identified only as Dale, who "thought the school was in pretty good shape financially" and had suggested some initial changes and recommendations. No members of the public offered comments during the allotted public-comment period.
On the agenda was item A, the approval of the 2025–2026 district budget "as published" in the Johnson Pioneer newspaper. Board member Bobbie Ehrlich moved to approve the budget as published; Bret Kendrick seconded. The board recorded the motion as carried, 7-0.
The board then moved to adjourn. Ehrlich moved to adjourn at 5:58 p.m.; Kendrick seconded and the motion carried 7-0.
Meeting participants listed in the minutes included President Lettie Nickell and board members Bobbie Ehrlich, Chantry Scott, Rhett Seyb, Paige German and Bret Kendrick; administration: Dave Novack; Principal Leah Crane; and Board Clerk Melissa Wilson. The minutes note that "Andrea" arrived at 5:35 p.m. and "Val" arrived at 5:45 p.m., but the minutes do not provide last names for those arrivals.
