The Stanton County Unified School District No. 452 Board of Education voted 7-0 on July 30 to approve a negotiations proposal presented by the committee, contingent on teacher approval. The special meeting began at 8:30 a.m. in the SCHS Board Room and lasted about 12 minutes.
Board President Lettie Nickell called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. and noted that board members Lettie Nickell, Rhett Seyb, Paige German, Chantry Scott, Bobbie Ehrlich and Val Zumudio were present; Administrator Dave Novack and Board Clerk Melissa Wilson were also recorded as attending. Board member Bobbie Ehrlich moved to approve the agenda and Chantry Scott seconded; that procedural motion carried 6-0 before an executive session was convened.
President Lettie Nickell moved the board into an executive session to "discuss employer-employee negotiations and discuss items in the negotiated agreement," specifying that Administrator Dave Novack would join the session for ten minutes beginning at 8:30 a.m.; Bobbie Ehrlich seconded the motion and it carried 6-0. A participant identified as Bret called in at 8:32 a.m. The board returned to open session at 8:40 a.m.
Following the executive session, Board member Bobbie Ehrlich moved to approve the proposed negotiation as presented by the committee, contingent on teacher approval. Board member Val Zumudio seconded the motion; the board approved the proposal on a 7-0 vote. The meeting concluded when Bobbie Ehrlich moved to adjourn at 8:42 a.m.; Val Zumudio seconded and that motion carried 7-0.
