The mover told the committee the law director had been made aware of an error in the draft language of the grant resolution that currently says a decision requires a “majority of all members”; the mover asked that the law director correct that language to require two-thirds where the draft statute requires it. The chair requested the correction and the committee approved the request to apply for the grant.
The committee’s action requests emergency legislation so the service director can apply; staff will prepare the corrected draft and bring it back to council for formal approval.
