Ely Council approves consent items, a small utility penalty write‑off and multiple appointments

During its Dec. 11 meeting the Ely City Council approved routine consent items (minutes for Oct. 23 and Nov. 13, 2025; bills for Nov. 18, Nov. 26 and Dec. 4, 2025). The Council also approved removal of up to $90.33 in past‑due utility penalties for APN 005‑033‑03 in Cherry Creek at the request of property owner Nicholas Bailey.
The Council confirmed Mayor Robertson’s reappointment of Councilman Terrill Trask to the White Pine Tourism and Recreation Board (term through Dec. 31, 2027) and confirmed Anthony Ithurralde’s appointment to the City Historic Preservation Commission (term through June 30, 2027). Council also approved participation as a cooperating agency in the Butte Valley Exploration Project Environmental Assessment and heard an update from the Porter Group on federal funding efforts.
All listed consent and administrative motions were approved by Council motion.
