Resident Jamie Edwards petitioned the LaMoure County Board of County Commissioners to close part of the section line running through the southeast quarter of section 36 in Kennison Township at the Sept. 2 meeting. The petition was presented during the regular agenda and the county attorney reviewed the governing statute.
State's Attorney Fallon Kelly reviewed the North Dakota Century Code provisions that govern section‑line closures and advised the board on statutory requirements. The commission did not take immediate action; the minutes state the issue will be brought back at the next meeting so the board can consider drafting a resolution to issue a license if appropriate.
No vote or formal directive to prepare a resolution was recorded beyond scheduling further consideration.
