Several public commenters urged the San Antonio Zoning Commission to delay hearings and pursue more community outreach on pending rezoning requests, arguing reduced parking requirements and new commercial uses could strain neighborhood street parking.
Andrea Garza, speaking in person, asked the commission to postpone a case so the applicant and neighborhood could have more dialogue about impacts including proposed boutique‑wine uses and parking. A voicemail from Gervas Clayton opposed a zoning change that he said would remove parking requirements in the area and worsen existing shortages on local streets. Staff and commissioners acknowledged those concerns and explained that notice was mailed to property owners within a 200‑foot radius; commissioners directed staff to follow up and in several instances agreed to continue cases to allow more outreach.
Chair Mario Bustamante and other commissioners said continuances were appropriate to ensure community input, and the body moved to continue items 11, 13, 17 and 18 to April 7, 2026. The commission also requested staff confirm notice mailing and to reach out to the Flores family referenced during the Harmon Road presentation.
