San Antonio zoning commission approves consent rezoning items, continues several cases to April

The chair said the affected cases will go to City Council with recommendations for approval and that applicants have six months to advance their cases to council.
Staff read summaries for the consent items, noting how many notices were mailed and whether neighborhood associations responded. Staff also indicated an additional condition was agreed for item 7 (no outside sand storage). Several prerecorded voicemails were read into the record: Chateau Dijon Homeowners Association (Beebruck Jones) said it supported the Broadway Street rezoning, and Beacon Hill Neighborhood Association (Cynthia Walker) said it supported the downzoning at 1001 Capitol Avenue. Other callers raised parking concerns for McCullough-area cases.
The commission also handled continuances. Commissioners voted to continue items 11, 13, 17 and 18 to the April 7 meeting after public comment and voicemail input (including Drea Garza and Tony Garcia requesting more neighborhood engagement). Item 4 was continued to April 21. Commissioners and staff encouraged applicants to reach out to nearby residents or neighborhood associations before the cases return to council for final action.
