Minnesota City Council approves sewer feasibility study and financial items, caps 118 Bridge Street extension at $2,200

The council voted unanimously to approve the feasibility report for the 118 Bridge Street sewer extension and set a firm upper cost limit of $2,200. Councilmember Joe Pellowski made the motion, and Councilmember Emily Conners seconded it; the record states all voted in favor.
The meeting also cleared routine financial business. On motions that passed unanimously the council accepted the February treasurer’s report and authorized payment of listed disbursements totaling $6,941.36, which included utility charges to Xcel Energy, a $1,196.54 monthly salary payment to Tina Full, a $1,575 snow-plow invoice from Potter LLC, $1,660 to People Service Inc. for the wastewater plant contract, $350 to Kelvin Penrod Trucking for sewer-plant daily monitoring, and other recurring fees.
Council members approved reimbursement of $1,578.23 to Emily Conners for a newly purchased city computer after a motion from Joe Pellowski and a second by Hollis Donehower. The council also acknowledged a $500 donation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars intended for park donations.
In a separate, unanimous motion, the council agreed to donate $6,000 from the city’s Charitable Gambling fund to the Minnesota City Fire Department to purchase new fire hoses. Fire Department representative Jay Bade told the council the department’s hoses are between 10 and 20 years old and need replacement; Hollis Donehower moved the donation and Joe Pellowski seconded it.
The council set the next meeting for April 14, 2026, at 7 p.m. at City Hall and adjourned at 8:41 p.m. Due to the clerk’s absence, Amanda Benter took the minutes and Tina Full typed and submitted them.
