Council approves Musson bid for Davidson Road utility work and contract for 2026 sidewalk program

The Waukesha City Common Council on March 3 voted to accept the Board of Public Works' recommendations on two public-works contracts.
Alex, speaking for the Board of Public Works, said the Davidson Road Utility and Stream Improvements Project received a low asphalt-base bid from Musson for $1,064,017.25; the project budget was $1,220,000. The board recommended moving forward with Musson's base bid and the council approved that recommendation by roll call.
Alex also reported the low bid for the 2026 concrete sidewalk replacement project from State Contractors for $535,345, against a budgeted amount of $560,000. The council approved that recommendation as well.
"The board recommended moving forward with the low bid from Musson for the asphalt base bid in the amount of $1,064,017.25," Alex said. He noted the Davidson Road project's budget and answered procedural questions about the bid process.
Council members moved and seconded the board's recommendations and approved both contract awards. Staff said both awards were within the project budgets and will proceed through standard contracting and procurement procedures.
The council did not discuss significant modifications to scope at the meeting; staff will manage contract finalization and project scheduling and report back through the Board of Public Works as required.
