At the May 12 meeting, Kathy Schoen of the Minnesota City Park Committee told the council the committee had raised $2,300 in donations and requested that the committee fund pay $1,789 to buy an 8-foot picnic table and a 6-foot bench for the park. Joe Pellowski moved to approve the purchase and Angie Bohnstengel seconded; the council voted unanimously to donate $1,789 from the Park Committee fund. The minutes note Hollis Donehower will pick up the table to avoid delivery charges.
A representative of the Minnesota City Little League requested installation of dugouts at the small field because there is currently no shade for players. Menards provided a materials quote of $1,756.64. Councilor Hollis Donehower moved to donate $1,756.64 for dugout materials, seconded by Angie Bohnstengel; the motion passed with Councilor Joe Pellowski dissenting. The minutes reference a prior $1,000 donation recorded at the April council meeting and state that no building permit is required for the dugouts.
