City Engineer B.J. Almberg said the contractor is experienced and that the delay stemmed from late arrival of supplies and pre-construction scheduling conflicts. Based on the contractor's plan, Almberg said the on-site work should take roughly three weeks once materials are available.
Councilman Terrill Trask moved to approve Change Order Number 1 to extend the project deadline; Councilwoman Melody Van Camp seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The change order was recommended for approval by the Municipal Utilities Board earlier that day.
Next steps: staff will monitor material deliveries and contractor scheduling to track the revised timeline and report progress to the council and the Utilities Board.
